Our trip to Italy

A girl from our group called Meike had kept up a diary when she went to Italy. It pretty much sums up what we have been doing in Italy. This is what she wrote down:

Day 1

We left at 8:30 at the train station in Veenendaal. From Schiphol we flew to Rome. Because of the bad weather, we couldn’t land in Rome, so we had to fly to Napoli. After a trip of 5 hours we finally arrived in Rome. We arrived at 24:00 in l’aquila, the town where we would be hosted. We were very tired because of the long trip to l’aquila. We were all separated and saw each other the next day at school. From the school we went by a very crowded bus to another school. We planted a tree and there was a song that was sang by the students of the school. After the tour and presentations in the school, we went home. In the evening we ate in a pizza restaurant with all the 200 students and teachers of Erasmus.

Day 2

We had to be at 8:30 at school. First we had a lesson of anthology. After that we had science. At the science class, some students showed us some experiments. After that we had a tour through the school. The school has class rooms and computer rooms. We also listened to  14 presentations about the countries and about the activities that each country did. After the presentations we had German class.

Day 3

Today we went to a little village in the mountains. We went there by bus. In the village we played a game. You had to find numbers of a map in the village. Everyone was running and it was kind very crowded. After the game we ate some cake and we listened to a tour guide who explained some things about the village. In the evening we went to the city of l’aquila.

Day 4

Today we got up at 6 ‘o clock. We went to Rome by bus. It was about 2 hours driving. In Rome we had a tour guide. She explained things about Rome and led us to different spots in the city. We saw the house of the vestal virgins, temples and many more. We at Ice cream at the trevi fountain. We  bought some souvenirs and saw expensive shops. At 6 ‘o clock we went back to l’aquila.

Day 5

We went to the mountains by bus. We started at a little village which was a ruin. We walked there and the tour guide explained some things about it. After that we went to a restaurant where we had lunch. Then, we went to a museum with paintings and sculptures. There also was a fountain. After the museum, we went to a little village with ancient looking buildings and little souvenir stores. We said goodbye to everyone because the next day we would be leaving. It was kind of a sad moment and some people cried too.

Day 6

At 4 ‘o clock we had the bus to the airport. We drove to the airport and we flew back to the Netherlands. It was a really exhausting week but it was very nice to be part of the project.

Escape Room The Circle

On September 19, we went to an escape room. An escape room is a room where you have to escape out of, obviously. It may sound easy but it is very hard! You have to complete puzzles to find a code for the exit door. There are also phones and pictures with codes for the exit door. It was not easy, but definitely fun!
